Kevin – After graduating from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor’s degree in Ag-Business and a minor in Farm Management, Kevin became livestock manager for a large cattle operation in Lockeford, California. During this time, he also started Steward Livestock, securing his own -S brand for his privately owned cow calf herd. After 12 years in the cattle industry, Kevin switched careers to farm and vineyard management, ultimately becoming Vineyard Manager for Trinchero Family Estates, managing vineyards throughout the Sierra foothill region, Delta region, and in San Joaquin county for over 26 years. Throughout his career he has had the ability to work with thousands of farmworkers and their children. Kevin is a proud graduate of the prestigious Ag Leadership program, Class 36. The Fellowship changed his life and how he sees the world. This dynamic experience led him to positions of service in the Sacramento Farm Bureau, serving on the Board of Directors and as President, as well as serving on the Reclamation District Board in the Delta. He currently remains active in the California Farm Labor Contractor Association.
Lori – After graduating from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Agricultural Science, Lori worked for various horse trainers, helped her husband Kevin with their cattle herd, and worked as a produce marketer in Lodi, CA. She returned to college to earn her secondary teaching credential and began her teaching career at Tracy High School as an Ag teacher and FFA Advisor. After 11 years in Tracy, Lori moved to Linden High School where she implemented and grew the AVID program over the next 20 years. Lori has earned the California AgriScience Teacher of the Year award, the Cortopassi Foundation Science Teacher of Excellence award, the Carlton Family Teacher of Excellence award and the California AVID Advocacy Award. She retired from teaching in 2021 but continues to substitute and serve as the AVID District Director in Linden.
